KBY-Zero Two by Mikoto-chan KBY-Zero Two by Mikoto-chan

Enjoy~

Zero, Marx Soul, Drawcia Soul, Dedede's stomach turning into a mouth, a twelve-sided die with an eye on each side, and the hard mode version of the Return to Dream Land villain... why does Kirby have so many of the more twisted and disturbing bosses and imagery in video games? Oh yeah, because the cartoonish art style lets them get away with it.

Great job on the Master of Dark Matter himself, Zero. I've always felt he had a bit of a Legion vibe (We are Legion), anyone else get that?

Mainly the reason most Kirby final bosses and villains are so god-awfully scary and traumatizing is because the theme of the Kirby games, I think, is dreams Vs nightmares. The games start out nice, peaceful, and joyful and kiddish, which Kirby reflects, but near the end, when the villains who represent nightmares enter the picture, the final battles become really scary and sometimes gory (Zero, Zero-Two, Marx Soul's defeat, and maybe others).
P.S. Sorry if I gave too long an explanation, just wanted to express what I think of the Kirby games.

I think you're reading too deep into it. But the basic idea is correct; they're bright and cartoony visually, so that gets contrasted with very dark villains.
